The Los Angeles Wilshire Boulevard Temple is the oldest and most visually stunning synagogue in Southern California. It was built in 1929, at the height of the Great Depression, and world reknowned for its 100 foot byzantine dome and interior murals by Hugo Ballin. A visit to the grand Los Angeles Wilshire Boulevard Temple is akin to seeing any of the great churches of Italy. And Langer's Deli is just a mile or so down the way, past Los Angeles's Macarthur Park.
WBT also has two other locations: the Irmas Campus in West L.A., near Olympic and Bundy, and the "Chapel," at the WBT run Camp Hess Kramer in Malibu.
The top two photographs are from the downtown WBT, followed by three shots of Irmas, and a Los Angeles Bar Mitzvah at WBT Hess Kramer. Three more from Irmas, and the bottom 2 are from WBT's Pineness Auditorium.
